Shito is a popular spicy and savoury condiment originating from Ghana. It is made from a blend of chilli peppers, shrimp, garlic, ginger and spices such as cloves, thyme and aniseed. These ingredients are fried in oil to create a deeply flavoured dark paste. lt is used as a dip or sauce with fried chicken, fish, rice, gari, yam or bread. It can also be used as dip for chips. lt is cherished for its robust flavour and heat making it a staple in West African kitchens. It comes in HOT and MILD products.
