all about me
My life is a fusion of my Mauritian roots and my adopted home in Bath. I was born on the beautiful island of Mauritius. Growing up, I was greatly influenced by my mother and grandmothers, who imparted their deep knowledge and passion for cooking. At 19, I married and moved to Bath, which is where I have called home ever since. Having had a 20 year career as a cashier in a bank, I made the decision to semi-retire to spend more quality time with my loved ones. My deepest passion is cooking - It has been a life long ambition to start a cooking business and I am excited to start. about my food
I love cooking different cuisines and I am a keen baker! But Mauritian food is my true passion. The aromas and flavours of traditional Mauritian cuisine take me back home and allow me to maintain a strong connection to my heritage. I love recreating dishes from my childhood and it has become a cherished tradition at family events. It’s wonderful to see my children have inherited this love for cooking, and they are passing it on to their children. For me, food means cultural connection, family bonds, and the joys of sharing love through cooking.see more..

Amazing Maurtian Food!
We ordered from Shila for our team lunch. She put on a wonderful spread for us and everything was delicious. I've not had food from Mauritius before so it was exciting to try that and we were delighted. The Dhal Puri with the pickled cabbage slaw and spicy dip was a highlight as well as the chicken curry which was perfectly rich and spicy with the most tender chicken! We also had the chilli bites and samosas as sides, they were so moreish. Thank you so much Shila, we'll be ordering again.
