A lot of us aren't used to this hot weather in the UK, so it can have an unexpected impact on your eating habits 🥵 🌤️
Once the initial excitement of the sunshine goes away, you might notice a bit of a drop in your appetite, and you're not alone.
Besides the obvious (drink LOTS of water!), you can also make certain food choices to help you feel cool and energized during a heatwave, and keep you away from your hot stove and oven.
🥗 Salads - Leafy greens are high in water content and veggies like celery and cucumber are made up of 95%+ water. Try adding a salad to one of your lunches or dinners, and it could help you increase your water intake.
🍓Fruits - Strawberries, pineapples, and grapefruits are all good choices... equally as hydrating as they are delicious! Watermelon and tomatoes also contain a nutrient called lycopene that can protect you from sun exposure.
🌶️ Chillies - it might seem counterintuitive to go for spicy food when you're feeling hot, but it can actually cool the body down by increasing blood circulation and perspiration.
...and if you don't have the energy to cook anything this week, head to the link in our bio for some summer inspiration. ...
