I am South American and have lived in Bristol for almost 15 years. I was born in Chile and lived in Brazil for many years before moving to the UK. I have lived my whole life between two languages, two cultures, and two food planets, where everyone in my family cooks.
I work as a photographer and food is one of my favourite subjects, from preparation to the flavours and especially the people who cook. There is always a great story around food, always a taste and smell that makes us travel in time and go to other places.
Cooking became normal to me out of necessity, because it made me get closer to my memories of family back in Chile and Brazil. Sharing those flavours is my biggest motivation to roll up my sleeves and get in the kitchen, and having met so many people who are passionate about their food has inspired me to share some of my Brazilian and Chilean dishes, along with some family favourites from other parts of the world.

Although I am a purist when it comes to my family recipes, I have changed and adapted some of them and my food is a mix of very traditional dishes with some others learned while travelling and trying different cuisines. Some of the ingredients that I use are from Brazil and luckily I can find them here, also I have managed to adapt my dishes to local produce while keeping the authenticity of these dishes. All my food is prepared fresh and you cannot expect less than a meal full of flavours, directly from my kitchen and my heart.

I ordered 3 Chilean empanadas and they were absolutely delicious. The dough was delicate and moist, the filling was juicy and full of flavour. My daughter finished hers in 5 minutes! Definitely will order them again. Thank you Mireya!

We had the Chilean Empanadas and they were AMAZING!!! The meat were very delicious and the gluten free pastry was the best I ever had.I will be having those empanadas every week.
