all about me

I always loved cakes and desserts, but not only eating them. I loved to watch my mother preparing and measuring the ingredients and mixing all of them together to make something special for the family. For me this was like magic. Helping in the kitchen and baking together is one of my sweetest childhood memories. Every celebration turned into the big family event where we shared and enjoyed the meals together. I remember all the excitement of the planning and the baking, serving the biscuits, cakes, gateaux for our guests and the happiness on their faces as they loved the food and asked for the recipes. My truly inspiration is people, I like to see when they enjoy my cooking, and that a slice of cake can put smile on their faces.

As I like travelling and learning about the history of gastronomy I get inspiration from all over Europe. Visiting countries, even different regions and trying their traditional cakes and dessert is one of my favourite part of travelling. For me the best souvenir I can take home is a good recipe. My all time favourites are the traditional recipes that are unique for a region. I love to use my grandmother's and mother's old fashioned recipes to bake, as well as creating something new of my own. Cakes, biscuits, tarts, flans, gateaux; there is something common in them all: you have to use quality ingredients, make them fresh, bake them with love and they will taste like home!
