About me
I was born and bred in Bristol and am passionate about growing, cooking and sharing vegan food. My entire working life has been spent in professional kitchens, from working as head chef & kitchen manager at yoga teacher training and retreats centre CAMYOGA; cafe manager of Cambridge’s first vegan cafe and starting up my own Bristol-based catering businesses: Kabala Kitchen and Thoughtful Forkfuls. With an undergraduate degree in Environmental Science, I am passionate about cooking food that not only tastes amazing, but is beneficial for the health of our bodies and for the planet.About my food
I create dishes which are based on familiar, ‘comfort food’ classics, but with an innovative and healthy twist. I take inspiration from a variety of different cuisines, and offer a creative take on favourites such as Lasagne, Enchiladas, Shepherd's Pie, Crumble, Sticky Toffee Pudding and more. I've done healthy tweaks and ingredient swaps throughout the cooking process to make the dishes more nutritious than their traditional counterparts, but all of my dishes still retain that feeling of indulgence and satisfaction that I love so much about comfort food.As my menu is 100% plant-based, it uses much fewer of our planet’s finite resources to produce. I seek out local suppliers for my produce, and design the menu around seasonal ingredients to further lower the carbon and water footprint. I am a keen gardener and I source as many of my vegetables, fruits and herbs from my own garden as possible, as well as composting all of my vegetable peelings, to try and eliminate waste. All of my dishes are frozen immediately after preparation to ensure freshness. The dishes can be cooked from frozen.see more..
