Venezuelan Hallacas

Hallacas are the traditional Venezuelan tamales. It’s no more than a thin layer of corn dough stuffed with a stew filling made with beef, pork, and chicken and topped with several ingredients, such as onion rings, bell pepper, raisins, olives, etc. Then wrap in plantain leaves, tied and boiled.

This dish is traditionally served during the Christmas season, and it can vary depending on the region and family traditions.

As every family in Venezuela, we make our traditional family recipe from the Andes
